The Great reddit Shutdown

I was recently given the opportunity to pen an op ed for the New York Times. I did my best with this opportunity and produced this piece about the recent reddit shutdown.

For some background, in my free time I help to moderate /r/IAmA, a subreddit having millions of unique users where people can go to ask questions of other users who make themselves available for interview. Recently, behind the scenes events at reddit led those of us moderating /r/IAmA to decide the only way forward was to shut down the subreddit for a day or so.
